New; original

She had come up with a novel idea for the book.



Antonym- Old

Everyone grows old with time.





Philanthropy

Love of mankind; donating to charity

The celeberty's philanthropy helped to make the charity possible.



Antonym- Selfishness

She only cared for her self proving how selfish she is.





Tentative

Experimental; temporary; uncertain

We have tentative plans for spring break.



Antonym- Independent

The couple finally has a chance to be independent.





Deference

Submission to another's will; respect; courtesy

They were show much deference from there bosses.



 Antonym- Disobiedience

The disobiedence the student showed was unacceptable.





Vacillate

To be indecisive; to waver back and forth

I vacillated on whether to go out or not.



Antonym- Plunge

He had to plunge into his schoolwork in order to pass the class.





Fervor

Passion

The fervor sorrounding the band didnt end until the concert was over.



Antonym- Insensitivity

I was insensitive of her ot say that.





Disspassionate

Without passion; objective; neutral

She spoke in a disspassionate tone about the accident.



Antonym- Biased

Her biased opinion caused people to dislike her.





Pragmatic

Practical; down-to-earth; based on experience rather than theory

He had a pragmatic view of politics considering he used to be a congressman.



Antonym- Unrealistic

Its unrealistic to expect so much.





Rigorous

Strict; harsh; severe

The rigorous task was accomblished by the knight.



Antonym- Gentle

We were asked to be gentle when holding the newborn baby.





Solemn

Serious; grave

She wore a very solemn expression after the funeral.



Antonym- Goofy

Little kids always seem to act goofy.
